Gloss meter
A 60° gloss meter used to measure the glossiness of surfaces such as coatings, inks, plastics, stone, paper, tiles, and enamel.
This is a 60° gloss meter used to measure the gloss level of surfaces such as coatings, inks, plastics, stones, paper, tiles, and enamels. Generally, the gloss of painted surfaces is quantitatively evaluated using the 60° mirror gloss measurement. JIS-K5600 states that the 60° angle is applicable to all coatings. Gloss defects can occur due to various factors such as insufficient pigment dispersion, excessive or insufficient film thickness, and drying conditions. Instead of indicating and managing the finish of painted surfaces with subjective expressions like glossy, semi-gloss, or matte, a gloss meter is used to quantitatively manage the degree of gloss. It is used in a wide range of fields, including not only painting but also printing, flooring, stone materials, leather, and plastics. Note that this measurement method is not suitable for measuring the gloss of metallic paints. Measurement range: 0.0 to 199.9 GU, Accuracy: ±1.2 GU, Measurement area: 14×30 mm, Power supply: one AA alkaline battery.
